August 7th, First Friday Art Walk in the Garden

8/4/2015

– Enjoy a walk through the finest flower garden in Seward during this month’s First Friday festivities. The Seward Community Library Association will be hosting 13 pieces of fiber art in the garden located on the south side of the Seward Community Library & Museum (corner of 6th and Adams). Proceeds from sale of the artwork will go towards maintaining and sustaining this beautiful component of the Library & Museum.

While enjoying the art and flowers, also be sure to participate in the Salmon Dip Off contest! Sign up online here or call Mary Tougas at 362-1225 to enter the contest with your best salmon concoction and a box of crackers. Grand prize for the best dip will be a boat trip for four people donated by Major Marine Tours!

The forecast looks warm and dry for this month’s First Friday Artwalk! But don’t worry if you see a sprinkle. In case of rain showers, the fiber art will be displayed in the community room of the Library & Museum. The garden will remain open for all hearty walkers who enjoy seeing flowers at their best.

The mission of the Seward Community Library Association, a.k.a. The Friends of the Seward Library, is to support and enhance literacy in our community, provide educational opportunities through scholarships and other programs, support library functions, and encourage community-wide involvement in cultural activities for all ages.
