“This open house is a great way to explore Seward’s favorite library/museum and welcome some terrific new staff,” Friends of the Seward Library President Mary Tougas said.
The afternoon will also include free admission to the museum, a family story time, poetry and short story readings, live music from Seward’s own Blackwater Railroad Company and refreshments.
“Come join us for this great opportunity to learn more about early Seward, and its collection of artifacts as well as its tenacious pioneers and colorful characters," said Resurrection Bay Historical Society President Willard Dunham.
The Nov. 15 open house is also a great time to meet new staff. Library Director Valarie Kingsland started in August and hit the ground running. Collection Coordinator Heather McClain also started this fall and rounds out the staff, which also includes Program Coordinator Rachel James Library Services Technician Kate Rullman and Library Aide Stephanie Robertson.
This special event is being sponsored by the Seward Community Library Museum, Friends of the Seward Library and the Resurrection Bay Historical Society. We hope to see you there!
